WHY CHANDRAYAN 2 FAIL ?

Introduction

 

The ambitious Chandrayaan 2 lunar exploration mission from India encountered a number of technical difficulties. The mission, which was launched in July 2019, was designed to investigate the Moon's south pole area, examine its surface, and look for water ice. Unfortunately, there were issues with the mission's attempt to land on the Moon's surface.

 

Reason behind to failed

Communication breakdown between the lander, Vikram, and the ground station was the main factor in Chandrayaan 2's failure. Just 2.1 kilometers above the Moon, the lander lost contact with mission control as it fell toward the lunar surface. The lander was unable to receive crucial instructions or alter its trajectory as a result of the communication breakdown.

Another factor was the hostile lunar surface. The lander was designed to make a soft landing, however, it had trouble locating a secure landing area due to limitations in its internal sensors and terrain mapping. As a result, the lander veered from its intended course and eventually stopped communicating.

It's critical to remember that space missions are very difficult enterprises, and disasters happen frequently. Such missions are challenging due to the complexities of interplanetary travel, communication lag, and inherent uncertainty in space conditions.

The Chandrayaan 2 mission was not a total failure despite the setback. The orbiter, which was sent into lunar orbit successfully, is still sending useful information back to Earth. It serves as evidence of the extraordinary accomplishments
