Destination Far West

The Far Western Province, which stretches from the Himalayas to the Terai, is small in size, but full of natural beauty. Khaptad has become an identity as a paradise. The virgin greenery here is phenomenal in itself. Shuklaphota Nikuj, home to huge herds of baboons, is a major tourist destination in the remotest part of the world.

Saipal, Api Nampa is a beautiful mid-hill region under the mountain, the river channels, customs and fairs in different Shaktipeeths are leaving behind and driving the people who live elsewhere. From the traditional original culture of the Shoka community of Byas Gakha in Darchula to the Tharu community of Kailalir Kashchanpur in the Terai, the festivals and costumes and food have their own special significance. Fairs and fairs held at various Shaktipeeths, including Gaura Parva, towards the hills create a unique atmosphere. As a whole, the Far West is religiously, naturally and culturally rich.

NATURAL BEAUTY

There is a problem in reaching Khaptad due to lack of proper arrangement of road transport and accommodation and food, but even those who have been there once have responded that 'it is a place you must visit once in your life'. Khaptad is truly supernatural and uniquely beautiful. Khaptad, where three remote hilly districts of Doti, Bajhad and Achham are connected, is spread from 2400 meters to 3700 meters above sea level. Among the 700 types of herbs found in Nepal, 124 kinds of herbs are found in Khaptad.

Khaptad is also famous for religious Hrittikona. A big fair is held in Khaptad on Ganga Dussehra around the month of May. For 50 years, the famous Swami Sachchitananda Saraswati, known as Khaptad Baba, has gained knowledge. Khaptad has become a unique identity. Api, Maigra, Ildwar and other mountains are visible.

Suklafat National park

A British citizen said after visiting Shuklaphota Nikuz in Kashanpur, 'Aha! How nice and quiet and secluded. The same desolate Shuklaphota has become a special destination for tourists from the Far West in the area of wildlife and biological diversity. This protected area with an area of 350 square kilometers is a dense habitat of tigers and huge grasslands due to rhinoceroses and rhinoceroses.

Shuklaphota can be eaten by elephants and jeeps. A well-equipped homestay is also operating in Ranatharu Basti, which is connected to Shuklaphata Nikuj. Parmanand Bhandari, a tourism businessman from Kashchanpur, who has been promoting Shuklaphota Jungle Safari Resort, says that Shuklaphota has not been widely publicized.

Other distant destinations

Shakttipeeths of distant chiefs Ugratara Bhagwati of Dandeldhura, Tripurasundari of Baitari, Ninglasaini and Melauli are of special importance as religious shrines. Lagre Mela is also of special importance at Vaidyanath Dham of Parashuram Dhamar Achham in Madhes Jogbudha area of Dedeldhura. Malikarjun of Darchula, Shaileswari and Badikedar of Doti, Vishu Jatra at Ghatal Temple in Dandelthura, Purnangiri Mela near Tanakpur across the border of Kashchanpur and Lagre Mela at Baitadi and Gokuleswar bordering Darchula on the occasion of Shivratri are special.

Maya Prakash Bhatt, president of Sudurpaschim NATA, says that the concept of religious corridors should be embodied in order to create an environment to travel around the places of religious importance within the province as a package. Amargarhi Fort in Dandelthura is also a historical heritage. Along with Nauhat area of Baitadi, the ruins of Doteli Raja's palace in Ajaymeru of Dandeldhura and Patal Bhubaneswar cave of Baitadi, the ruins of palace near Dipayal and the secluded Ramaroshan area of Achham are also tourist destinations.
