Harsing Danda, Lamjung
Introduction:
Harsing Danda is a hill point or place located in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality ward no. 3, Dhagai in Lamjung. Marsyangdi Rural Municipality is a local administrative unit located in northern side of Lamjung district of Gandaki province and named after the Marsyangdi River which flows through the region.

Harsing Danda is a becoming one of the famous hill point to refresh in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality. It is located at the altitude of about 2200 m from sea level. As it is hill point, it gives you panorama view of mountains, the valley made by Marsyangdi river, cities like Khudi, Bhulbule etc situated at the bank of Marsyangdi river, the headquater Besishahar, the agro tourism village Dhagai, situated just below the Hill Point and other aspects.

Harsing Danda is very easy to reach, one can reach by foot who want to trek and another by road. It is about 20 km from Besishahar. It is an off-road so you can reach there in 2 to 3 hours from Besishahar. If you want to experience both trekking and off-road experience, then I suggest you take 4 wheel drive to Dhagai and start trekking a 1 hour stone-stared path which gives you the opportunity to observe the natural beauty along the path.
Harsing Danda is a place where our national hero Bhakti Thapa's childhood was passed before he served as Commander (Sardar) in kingdom of Lamjung . It is said that Bhakti Thapa used to herd buffalos and used to do shot put (Chhelo hanne) in this place in his childhood.

Harsing Danda is a perfect place to refresh and to do camp and stay. One can carry there own equipments and utensils but if they do not want, there is a Harsing Community Campsite opened by youth of Dhagai Village which can provide you the required facilities one can expect from the hotel.

Harsing community is nearest, easy to reach and perfect place to trek, do camping as well as historical place one must reach atleast one in a life. You will get mesmerizing views of mountains like Manaslu , Annapurna range , sunset etc. from this place. You can also stay at gurung village Dhagai just located below this place to experience gurung culture and traditon as well as in Siurung village which lies in northern side of this place.
