In1946 the cricket association of Nepal was formed to promote cricket amongst the aristocracy after the introduction of decomocracy though the nepal revolution of1951 cricket began to spread to the rest of the population.in1961 in effort to promote cricket to whole of Nepal.the cricket association of Nepal became part of national sports council nevertheless the national game tended to the love limited to Kathmandu until the 1980s
Improvement to communication and transport infrastructure in Nepal allowed the game to expand outside Kathmandu in the 1980 and became an affiliate member of the international cricket council in 1985 A major development program was being in early 1990) which saw regional and district tournament being established and increased promotion of cricket in school.
