Gautam Buddha temple

The Gautam Buddha Temple, also known as the Mayadevi Temple or the Lumbini Temple, is a significant Buddhist site located in Lumbini, Nepal. Lumbini is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered to be the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, the founder of Buddhism.

The temple is situated in the southwest part of Nepal, near the Indian border. It is believed to be the exact place where Queen Mayadevi, the mother of Gautam Buddha, gave birth to him in 563 BCE. The temple complex is built around the sacred Maya Devi Pond, where Queen Mayadevi is said to have taken a bath before giving birth.
